Structured Cabling

The backbone of every system in your building.

Phones, Wi-Fi, cameras, access control, AV — it all rides on cabling. Done right, it disappears into the background for twenty years. Done wrong, it's mystery outages and unlabeled spaghetti nobody wants to touch.

Structured Cabling in Sacramento

Scarlett Communications installs voice and data cabling for tenant improvements, new construction, and occupied-space retrofits across the Sacramento region. We handle the complete scope: pathway and support, cable pulls, terminations, rack and patch-panel buildouts, testing, labeling, and as-built documentation.

Every link is tested and certified with calibrated equipment, labeled to a consistent standard, and documented so your IT team — or the next contractor — knows exactly what's installed and where it lands. We coordinate cleanly with general contractors, electricians, and IT departments, and we're comfortable working nights and phased schedules in occupied buildings.

Cabling & infrastructure we install

Cat6 / Cat6A copper cabling

Horizontal cabling for data, VoIP, Wi-Fi, cameras, and building systems — plenum-rated where required, shielded where the environment demands it.

Fiber optic backbone

Single-mode and multimode fiber between buildings and closets, with fusion-spliced or field-terminated connectors and OTDR/insertion-loss test results.

MDF / IDF buildouts

Racks, cabinets, ladder rack, patch panels, cable management, and grounding — telecom rooms built clean and left clean.

Wireless access point cabling

Cat6A drops to surveyed AP locations, ceiling-mounted and labeled, ready for your Wi-Fi vendor or our team to bring online.

Voice, paging & specialty cabling

Voice cabling, overhead paging, clock systems, coax, and low-voltage control wiring for building systems.

Pathway & support systems

J-hooks, cable tray, conduit stub-ups, sleeves, and core drilling — with proper firestopping at every rated penetration.

Demarc extensions & carrier coordination

Extending carrier handoffs from the MPOE to your suite, coordinating with ISPs so circuits land where you need them.

Testing, certification & as-builts

Every copper link certified to TIA standards with printed/PDF results; labeled per TIA-606; floor-plan as-builts on request.

The Scarlett Standard

What 'done right' means here

TIA/EIA-568 compliant

Installed and tested to ANSI/TIA standards with BICSI-guided workmanship — not just 'it links up.'

100% tested & labeled

Certified test results for every link, consistent labeling at both ends, and patch panels that read like a book.

Construction-ready

We work from plans, attend OAC meetings, handle submittals and closeout docs, and hit GC schedules on phased projects.

Good Questions

Structured Cabling FAQs

Cat6 or Cat6A — what should we install?

For most offices, Cat6 handles today's needs; Cat6A supports 10-gigabit speeds, higher-wattage PoE, and Wi-Fi 6E/7 access points, making it the better bet for new construction and long-horizon tenants. We'll price both so you can decide with real numbers.

Do you provide test results?

Yes — every copper link is certified with a calibrated tester and you receive the full results with closeout documents, along with labeled patch panels and as-built documentation.

Can you work in an occupied office?

Yes. We regularly cable occupied buildings on nights, weekends, and phased schedules — with clean containment, daily tidy-up, and coordination with your staff so business keeps running.
